Thanks for this explanation. Personally, I use Netvibes to keep aware of my favourite blogs and other things… I'll nevertheless check Google Reader to identify new blogs of interest to me.
I am also using Google news alerts. LinkedIn has this feature that emails you saved search result every so often. You can also get RSS feed of a Twitter search.
